WOW! What an opening.

I have been so worried that lots of my customers would not be able to find me and it seems like lots have... thank you so much for all the good wishes. Opening my own store was very daunting but we are really excited (though very tired - who knew it would be so hard to load 200 products!).

We did take some family time and saw a movie today and visited the book store ... we saw Ratatouille (no idea on spelling :-) .. we always have to wait for the movies to show in the closed captions theatre we go to and the kid's moveis are few and far between but over the next three weeks they are showing three so it looks like some more movie going these school holidays.

Laura

Today we were just so shocked and worried to hear that one of the amazing TADgirls Laura (aka scrappinsweetie) lost her home in a devasting house fire. Laura and her family are all ok but we believe just about everything was lost. Laura is just one of the sweetest, most dedicated team members and had been very excited about a new studio for her photography business. I hope you will keep her in your thoughts and prayers. For people willing to help we will be trying to do something when we can find out the familY'S biggest needs. Please check back and check the TADgirls blog for more news. Using Scribbles

I really love the free form feel of the s'Sribbles' overlays. I used one of the five bonus papers included in the pack and you can get more variety in colour with the basic paper pack.

So this is all I did

Grabbed the background, it just happened to be the perfect blue so I did nothing to tweak it :)
Cropped two photos that I added strokes to - one thinner than the other.
Then added the scribbles overlay.
lastly I used a basic arial font for the title and the journaling. I set the tracking on determination to 350 for that stretched look and played with it for the journaling block so it fitted in to that space.

That is it... no other product. Easy!!! I think it is a fresh and funky look. Once you have the overlay down you can easily delete any part of it to fit your needs.

Using the Take Two Folded mats

So much interest in the mats and they are really easy to use.. you need only ever use one photo, one mat, a blending mode and you are done. They are also useable in PSP I have been told.

The following samples are if you want to step it up a bit. Step by step what I did to achieve each look.

The mats are available here - two sets, one has a lot more folds, the other more simple. Another way to add interest in your pages. The mats all have a slight grungy texture this just helps the photos 'grab' the texture when you blend. I did use the curve tool on the folded mat layer to whiten up the mat on the climb photo.

Slowly filling my store

I have some new Frippery in the store today (I think I will have to give Frippery its on category :-) and someone asked me for some papers to work with them. Well they work well on plain papers with a little texture so I came up with some scratched ones that are great with lots of the frippery. The Beadazzled papers will I will add here soon would also work well. Anyway I thought I would get these up, a added a bright frippery piece and a frame and they are a FREE gift for the next few days with every $9 plus order. I will send them to you once your order is processed :) and if you placed a $9 order in the last day or so I am sending them to you too!

Now what?

Well after two years my SBB star has closed :-). it seems like 2007 is full of change for me... so now what? Well I am not sure. I have had some great offers and I really appreciate the support of my customers now I am thinking things through. I have to do something fairly quickly but meanwhile my blog boutique will be showcasing all my new additions so I hope you will continue to shop TAD right here :)

This week I have Art Smock papers - named by my daughter! While I was struggling for a name she came up with Art Smock which I think is perfect.

Plus I have had a new addition to the Take Two Phot mats (templates) folded mats made for a long time and had to get around to writing some instructions ... not that they really need it because they are so easy. So instructions for PS included. The papers have a tiny amount of grunge on them to give them some texture when the photo is blended.
