I have been so busy this past week or so. It is the end of our school year so we have all the final events happening including presentation night. I am sorry if I owe you an email.. I will catch up the end of next week :)

I really appreciate how many of you have been kind enough to ask how my daughter is doing and I am glad to report that everything has been going very well. She has really taken to her cochlear and we have had only a few issues including her speech quality (which has actually gone from being very good to quite muddy... surprising!) We are hoping it will sort itself out and is a result of the mixed signals she is getting using the amplification from her hearing aid in one ear and the cochlear in the other. In all other aspects it has been a wonderful.

Her cello teacher told me the other day how she could now hear all her piano intros :-) and on a side note she just receieved Honours in her latest cello exam :). All in all she has a great year - I think a highlight was being shortlisted in a National Poetry Contest (Dorothy Mackellar awards) - Jem made the top 12 out of over eight thousand three hundred entries! She gets none of these talents from me, I cannot write poetry except for bad limericks and I have no musical talent at all LOL.

So it has been a real year of highs and terrible lows and I am looking forward to 2008 and just moving forward with our lives.
