This week at TADA

I have been so busy this past week or so. It is the end of our school year so we have all the final events happening including presentation night. I am sorry if I owe you an email.. I will catch up the end of next week :)

I really appreciate how many of you have been kind enough to ask how my daughter is doing and I am glad to report that everything has been going very well. She has really taken to her cochlear and we have had only a few issues including her speech quality (which has actually gone from being very good to quite muddy... surprising!) We are hoping it will sort itself out and is a result of the mixed signals she is getting using the amplification from her hearing aid in one ear and the cochlear in the other. In all other aspects it has been a wonderful.

Her cello teacher told me the other day how she could now hear all her piano intros :-) and on a side note she just receieved Honours in her latest cello exam :). All in all she has a great year - I think a highlight was being shortlisted in a National Poetry Contest (Dorothy Mackellar awards) - Jem made the top 12 out of over eight thousand three hundred entries! She gets none of these talents from me, I cannot write poetry except for bad limericks and I have no musical talent at all LOL.

So it has been a real year of highs and terrible lows and I am looking forward to 2008 and just moving forward with our lives.

Look at me rambling on :) and you want me to get to the good stuff - NEW PRODUCTS! lol.

This week at TADA

Well as one week blends into the next I feel like I am on a freight train hgeading direct for the holiday season at full speed! Very scary. This week I even made Christimas papers :) You can't see them yet though.

I did get the Lucky dip finished and it is up this month in TWO sizes.. so pick the regular or supersize it :-) I did have to bump up the price 50c.... the strength of our aussie dollar and paypal fees were just getting too much and I am trying to stay in business :) I hope I always give you value for your dollar though. i try to keep the prices down as far as possible.

On a personal front we have added a new fluffy member to our family this week. I will get some photos up soon. We had a little medical scare with my daughter who had a strange lump on her neck (heart in the mouth stuff) but we got the all clear today... so I have spent the past few days not really comprehending much. So our new little kitten has brought some welcome joy to our home:-_) I hope you have a happy weekend. Thanks for supporting my designs.

Well i have had a bit of an upside down week. Not being very well has thrown me for a loop but I am getting back on track now.

Using Scribbles

I really love the free form feel of the s'Sribbles' overlays. I used one of the five bonus papers included in the pack and you can get more variety in colour with the basic paper pack.

So this is all I did

Grabbed the background, it just happened to be the perfect blue so I did nothing to tweak it :)
Cropped two photos that I added strokes to - one thinner than the other.
Then added the scribbles overlay.
lastly I used a basic arial font for the title and the journaling. I set the tracking on determination to 350 for that stretched look and played with it for the journaling block so it fitted in to that space.

That is it... no other product. Easy!!! I think it is a fresh and funky look. Once you have the overlay down you can easily delete any part of it to fit your needs.

I love my CT... they make the most inspiring layouts and it is just so nice to see something you made used to captures wonderful memories. So I know you get to see layouts on the TADgirls blog but I wanted to start to show you some here. This one is from Melissa and she used the new Whisper papers, designs that are close to my heart.

I love it Melissa.... just a beautiful layout and you were a beauiftul baby!!!

April!!!

Wow April already.. A quarter of the year gone.. isnt that scary? Not as scary as global warming though.... you only have to live in Australia to know how real it is.

One thing we are doing as a family is switching items off at the wall .. no more stand-by. Try it.. save money on your electricity bill and start saving Planet Earth!!! We are in drought here so re-using our grey water helps preserve this precious resource and bucketing water from the bath tub is helping build muscles... on my hubby not me .. heheheh.

So that is saving the planet and here is some things to save your sanity while you scrapbook... Paraphernalia!!!
